350-Hour 26&2 Hot Yoga Teacher Training

A practical, in-depth teacher training designed to prepare confident, capable teachers of the 26&2 Hot Yoga sequence.

Led by Ahimsa Hot Yoga studio owner Megan Saffigna, this 350-hour Yoga Alliance International–accredited training is for dedicated students who want to deepen their practice and develop the skills, clarity and confidence to teach.

A Flexible, Blended Training Format

This training is delivered in a blended learning format, allowing you to balance study with real life while still receiving strong guidance and support.

  • 5 weeks of self-paced learning, supported by weekly check-ins

  • 7 weeks of face-to-face, in-studio training at Ahimsa Hot Yoga

The self-paced component allows you to absorb foundational theory, posture study and teaching principles in your own time. The in-studio training then brings this learning to life through hands-on practice, feedback and real teaching experience.

Meet the Teaching Team

Megan Saffigna – Program Director and Lead Instructor

Megan is the owner of the successful studio Ahimsa Hot Yoga. Her teaching focuses on beginner and intermediate 26&2 hot yoga, Yin Yoga, and teacher mentoring.

Megan has a lifelong commitment to yoga and has taught well over 7,000 hours of classes. The list of her yoga teaching qualifications is extensive and spans an impressive range of disciplines, including 26&2, Vinyasa, Restorative, Pilates, and many more. Her advanced certifications include Yoga Alliance International Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (E-RYT Senior Level 4) and Yoga Alliance Australia Level 2 Yoga Teacher. She not only holds these qualifications but also brings practical experience to each discipline, ensuring her teaching is grounded in both knowledge and hands-on expertise.

Consistent investment in continuing education and professional development has been central to Megan’s wealth of knowledge. Working both within Australia and internationally with some of the world’s most respected yoga teachers, she maintains insight into the evolving landscape of yoga instruction.

Megan respects the traditional roots of yoga and recognizes the importance of honouring them while navigating innovations. She values how these roots serve as a foundation when exploring what the practice of yoga can teach us.

Megan is a supportive and nourishing mentor. Megan has a growing list of successfully mentored graduates from her teacher training program. She will empower you and guide you on your own transformative physical, mental, and spiritual journey to becoming a yoga teacher.

Martin Collins – Support Instructor

Martin has over three decades of professional teaching experience. His expertise includes the study of cross-discipline teaching methods and research interests in
sports and exercise science.

Martin has been a hands-on sports-specific coach. He has worked with athletes of all backgrounds: youths, adults, special populations, elite athletes, and amateurs. More broadly, he has held positions as a group fitness instructor, and personal trainer. As a successful professional athlete himself, boasting international representation, Martin has rare insight into the world of elite sports. Moreover, he is an accredited Bikram teacher and Advanced Barkan Method teacher. He has taught over 1000 hours of classes and completed nearly 1,000 hours of accredited hot yoga teacher training. Martin holds ERYT 500 Plus Senior Level 5 accreditation with Yoga Alliance International.

Martin actively contributes to the education and development of future yoga instructors. He is keenly interested in teacher training pedagogy and innovation within the industry. His professional teaching experience makes him a highly qualified trainee teacher mentor, particularly for supporting students through self- paced learning programs.

Martin’s diverse mix of expertise contributes to an insightful understanding of teaching postural yoga. He brings an infectious passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of the pedagogy of teaching methodologies.

This program offers in-depth training in teaching the 26&2 Hot Yoga sequence, including the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. It is designed for students who want to:

The training balances traditional methodology with a therapeutic, sustainable approach to practice and teaching.

  • Teach the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises with precision and confidence
  • Understand and apply clear alignment principles
  • Cue effectively and teach with presence and clarity
  • Teach a complete 90-minute 26&2 Hot Yoga class with confidence
  • Support students of different abilities within a set sequence
  • Deliver classes with strong presence, voice projection and pacing
  • Develop your own teaching voice while respecting the integrity of the practice

  • Detailed guide on how to memorise teaching cues and instructions.
  • Fully scripted cues and instructions for 90-minute classes – interoperable with the traditional dialogue and adaptable for classes of other durations.

  • Personal mentoring from experienced 26&2 hot yoga teachers, answers to questions you haven’t even thought to ask yet.
  • Practical teaching experience conducting multiple classes all on your own.
  • Posture workshops for every posture in the 26&2 sequence including deep dives into your own practice and the practice of other students.
  • Documentation and tips for progressing your teaching skills beyond the initial teacher training.

Upon successful completion of the course you will have already taught your first few yoga classes and be ready to teach in any 26&2 studio.

Knowledge Experts

Leia Graham

Leia has been working for more than 20 years as a registered physiotherapist and as a Yoga teacher since 2017. Leia is highly experienced and has a special interest in treating patients suffering with chronic and persistent pain.

Chronic pain is shaped not only by what’s happening in the body, but by how the nervous system learns to interpret and respond to sensations over time.

Nicole Hess

Nicole is a Doctor of Psychology – PhD in Psychology and has practiced 26&2 Hot Yoga for over 25 years.

Her workshop focuses on public performance, managing anxiety, and building confidence. Participants will apply strategies to manage anxiety, manifest success, and cultivate resilience.

Katy Hoogendam (USA)

Katy is an international 26&2 Hot Yoga teacher, leading both Intermediate and Advanced 84 classes. She’s widely known for her extraordinary commitment to a daily wall-walk backbending practice — currently at 2,481 consecutive days and counting.

What makes this even more inspiring is that Katy lives with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Christie Brown

Christie has the rare skill set of being a Physiotherapist and a yoga teacher. As well as holding a Masters of Physiotherapy, BSC (Hons) in Sports Science and Sports Therapy and 500 Hour Yoga Teacher qualifications, she also has Hot Pilates and weightlifting certification.

Christie will share her expertise of the anatomy of hot yoga asana from a physiotherapist’s point of view and specifically, the effect hot yoga has on the lymphatic system.

The Ahimsa Hot Yoga Teacher Training draws upon the wisdom of our esteemed predecessors and teachers, while introducing ground-breaking pedagogical innovations. It introduces participants to The Script for Beginning Yoga Teachers. The Script is purpose built for beginning teachers offering fantastic advantages over other teacher trainings. You will be given deep insight into the principles and rationale behind every cue, direct from the authors, unlike traditional restricted dialogues.

Certification

You will graduate with a certificate of 350 Hours Yoga Teacher Training. This qualifies you to teach any yoga style. You will have the skills to teach in a wide range of settings.

Upon completion of this course, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance
International as a Registered Yoga Teacher: RYT 350 – Level 2 Advanced.

This training is an opportunity to learn deeply, practise consistently and develop the skills required to teach with confidence and integrity.

Complete and return the registration form and signed policy agreement to the studio

Secure your place by choosing one of the following options:

   – Pay the non-refundable $500 deposit, or

   – Pay the full amount to receive the early bird discount, or

   – Apply for a payment plan by booking an appointment with Megan

Deposit and payment can be made in the studio or online. 

Payment plans available: The full training cost  can be paid off by making an initial deposit and committing to regular payments to be paid in full by week 6 of the course.
